The istikhara dua is a dua in which the servant draws close to Allah Almighty to seek help and advice in a specific matter, and there are a number of steps to isthikhara dua.

The istikhara prayer is a Sunnah, and the istikhara dua in it is after the greeting, as stated in that noble hadith.
Its description: to pray two rak’ahs like the rest of the supererogatory prayer.
Recite in each rak’ah the Fatiha of the Book and whatever is available from the Qur’an, then raise his hands after the salutation and supplicate with the supplication contained in that.
Which is: (O Allah, I seek Your guidance by Your knowledge, I seek Your power by Your power, and I ask You of Your great bounty, for You are capable and I am not, You know and I do not, and You are the Knower of the unseen.
O Allah, if You know that this matter is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affairs, then decree it for me, make it easy for me, then bless me in it.

- O Allah, I ask You that I bear witness that there is no god but You, the One, the One, the One, the Eternal, the One who was not begotten and was not begotten, and there was no one equal to Him.
And make me a good companion so that we may praise You often, for You see through me, O Mujib, the compelled one, if he calls upon You.
Loosen my knot, secure my splendor, and relieve my anguish, O Allah, grant me from You a good husband, and place between us affection and mercy, for You are over all things powerful, O You who say to a thing, Be, and it is.

And about the istikharah duaa, it was reported from the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, that he said in what was reported on the authority of Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said:
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to teach us istikharah in all matters as he teaches us a surah from the Qur’an, where he says: So let him pray two rak’ahs other than the obligatory prayer, then let him say:
اللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ، وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلا أَقْدِرُ، وَتَعْلَمُ وَلا أَعْلَمُ، وَأَنْتَ عَلامُ الْغُيُوبِ
O Allah, I seek Your guidance by Your knowledge, I seek Your power by Your power, and I ask You of Your grace, for You are capable and I am not, and You know and I do not, and You are the Knower of the unseen.
اللَّهُمَّ إنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي؛ فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ
O Allah, if You know this matter is good for me in the immediate and future of my affair, and in my religion, my livelihood, my livelihood and the outcome of my affair, then decree it for me and make it easy for me, then bless me in it.
اللَّهُمَّ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ وَاقْدُرْ لِي الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ ثُمَّ ارْضِنِي بِهِ»
O Allah, and if You know that this matter is bad for me in my religion, my livelihood and the outcome of my affair, and in the immediate and the end of my affair, then turn me away from it and decree for me the good wherever it is, then please me with it.

The istikhaarah prayer and the
istikhara dua do not have a specific time, for it is permissible for a Muslim when a matter is important to him and he wants to seek goodness from Allah.
The Mighty and Sublime – for that matter to turn to him in prayer and ask him what he needs, except that this permissibility is limited to times of desirability and permissibility.
It is not prescribed to pray istikhara in times of dislike, which is after the dawn prayer to the rising of the sun as much as a spear, and the period of the middle of the sun in the sky before meridian, and after the afternoon prayer until sunset; That is when the sun tends to set.
And if he stays away from those times, it is permissible for her to pray it whenever he wants, and it should be noted that isthikhara dua is in matters that are permissible, or things that are recommended and obligatory.
Provided that there is a conflict between two duties or delegates and the user wants to choose one of them or start with one of them before the other.

Istikhara duaa relies on Allah Almighty, the certainty of his good choice of the servant, and the division of his ability and knowledge, and does not taste the sweetness of faith except those who are pleased with Allah as a Lord.
And among his requirements is contentment and contentment with what he chooses, that is the taste of true happiness for the believer, Moreover there great importance for the istikhara duaa, and the following is its statement:
- Attachment to Allah Almighty, and showing the need and lack of Him, Glory be to Him.
- Relying on Allah Almighty, seeking help from Him, and entrusting all matters to Him.
- Success in choosing, success and success in the matter, whoever asks and calls to Allah – the Highest – with sincerity and sincerity; He gave him and honored him and chose the good for him.
- Satisfaction with what Allah has written, and is one of the greatest virtues that occurs in the heart of the servant, where we find that he does not regret his choice because he delegated his command to the honorable.
And he is certain that Allah – the Highest – chooses for him nothing but good, and that everything that happens is for the wisdom that Allah wants.
- Feeling happy, the servant relies on Allah, the right of reliance on the matter for which he wants istikhaarah, and then is satisfied with what Allah – the Highest – has chosen for him.
As for misery, it occurs if the servant abandons reliance and istikhaarah, and is discontented with what Allah Almighty has decreed for him.
Is it necessary to sleep after Istikhara?
It is not a requirement that the Muslim sleeps directly after the
istikhara dua, because the matter does not depend on knowing the signs that the Muslim will see in the dream only.
But there are many different signs and results that indicate to the Muslim whether this matter is good for him or not if the Muslim performs the isthikhara dua.
And all of its conditions are correct and to the fullest, so this is one of the most important results of accepting the prayer and it is comfortable for the one who uses it.
In the end, the istikhara dua is a prayer in which the servant seeks help from Allah and asks him for help and assistance in one of the important matters in his life such as marriage and travel.
And it is performed at any time when the prayer is two rak’ahs. In the first, Surah Al-Fatihah and Al-Kafirun are read, or whatever is easy for you from the Holy Qur’an.
And in the second Surah Sincerity to finish the prayer and give and then pray the istikhara duaa that we mentioned.
